**System Engineering Architect**


**Patient Transport Monitor & Automatic External Defibrillator Product Development**

We are searching for a passionate systems / architect to join us as we strengthen our product portfolio, expand our services and solutions, and bring game changing technology to market. This team member will be responsible for working collaboratively with a team of cross-functional engineers. Our products use various bio sensors to display and analyze the current state of a patient. The candidate will be responsible for writing, developing and integrating these systems into our new and existing products.


We're looking for the candidate to have the following qualities:

+ 5+ years experience in a medical or other regulated industry.


Responsibilities:


+ Own the "High Level" systems view of our product design and how it fits within a larger product portfolio

+ Defines and writes the systems requirements for a design and system

+ Derives requirements from high level marketing requirements into functional requirements

+ Coordinates with UI, Engineering, Marketing, Procurement and Operations teams

+ Participates in design reviews

+ Keeps a abreast of new developments in all relevant technological domains

+ Advises on change requests for systems and related products


Qualifications:


+ BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering.

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded hardware development, ideally in a regulated industry.

+ Has in depth knowledge of the application area and an understanding of both hardware and software.

+ Strong electrical engineering background and understanding of modern design topologies.

+ Capable of distilling requirements from the system level into lower level electrical and mechanical requirements

+ Strong understanding of DSP and algorithm concepts

+ Strong understanding of safety risk management

+ Experience with Matlab for performance analysis.

+ Experience in designing to national/international standards

+ Experience with designing fault-tolerant systems

+ Understanding of broad and system-level technologies and the ability to read, interpret and review data sheets and design specifications

Help our systems engineering team create lifesaving and life sustaining devices that are used in hospitals and pre-hospital situations globally.


**You are responsible for**


+ Define scope and problem domain in a crisp and structured way: defining the problem with stakeholders and identifying key issues.

+ Deliver a consolidated architecture: creating well defined building blocks / system options & scenarios; choosing the optimal architecture, leveraging technology and contributing to/driving roadmaps, establishment of control points (IP).

+ Ensure good and up to date documentation of the architecture and implementation thereof; using methods & tools for a structured approach.

+ Driving an accepted implementation of architecture, by explaining, convincing, deciding; incl. validation and verification; solving issues and learning from them; architecture lifecycle management; teaming-up for results.

+ Act within the total context, (business, organization, roadmaps, external world, etc.): driving for convergence; capturing / re-use of prior art and external trends

+ Own the "High Level" systems view of our product design and how it fits within a larger product portfolio

+ Strong understanding of DSP and algorithm concepts

+ Strong understanding of safety risk management

+ Experience in designing to national/international standards

+ Experience with designing fault-tolerant systems
