Sr. Software Architectural Engineer- eCommerce
**General Description**

This is an opportunity to join a start-up team for one of the most recognizable brands in the world. Samsung is looking at changing and personalizing direct transactions with consumers. Seeking an agile architect to primarily manage website; SEO/search (how website works). Must be collaborative with business teams and merchandising team and respond quickly to change requests. This role consists of 40% working with developers/engineers, 30% collaboration with merchandising and big data teams and 30% "next frontier" future state planning. Core Responsibilities
* Translation of complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
* Responsible for the over-all systems architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
* Developing and delivering quality services and solutions using JavaScript, HTTP, REST, RDBMS, No SQL and other web technologies
* Maintaining current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology
* Propose frameworks, technologies and standards for development and implementation
* Should be able to conceptualize and come up with multiple architectural approaches
* Closely work with Product Management to understand business requirements and engineering to determine performance requirement consequences in order to translate them in the best product architecture choices
* Open to occasional hands-on coding if needed
**Necessary Skills / Attributes**
* Master's/Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
* With Bachelor's, 12+ years overall development experience; With Master's, 10+ years overall development experience
* 3+ years web search design or architecture
* Successful candidates will have broad experiences and open to various technologies
* Domestic travel up to 25% Work experience must have included:
* Design or Architecture of web platform search
* Core competencies in JavaScript (node.js) and/or C++
* Familiarity with scripting languages such as Ruby, Perl or Python
* Expertise in building REST based reactive micro services platform
* Experience working with AEM and Endeca a plus
* Understanding of Map Reduce and other distributed algorithms
* Experience and through understanding of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL
* Experience and through understanding of nosql databases such as rethinkDB, ElasticSearch & Apache Cassandra
* Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems, and asynchronous architectures
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proven track record on delivering results, especially in the area of writing high-performance, reliable and maintainable code
* Expertise in Devops process and tooling for deployment, monitoring and site reliability engineering
* Familiar with managing applications in cloud
* Ability to work well in a team environment and be able to effectively drive cross-team solutions that have complex dependencies and requirements.
