Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for a full-time employee to work on-site with our client. The Energy Efficiency Engineer 1 position resides in the Energy Efficiency Services Group (PEJD) within the Power Services (P) business line. The Energy Efficiency advances the efficient use of energy throughout the Pacific Northwest by working with utility customers, trade allies, industry, and other partners. This engineering position will support our customers in meeting the 7th Power Plan targets throughout the Pacific Northwest.This position is located in Pasco, Washington.

Responsibilities:



+ Provide energy efficiency project engineering and technical knowledge while serving on energy efficiency service teams:


+ Perform outreach and customer service duties associated with developing and implementing energy efficiency projects, creating new measure offerings, performing measurement and verification, and providing technical assistance.


+ Work with utilities and/or end-users and assist Senior Engineers with developing energy efficiency projects recommendations. Work with the utility and/or end user to help solve energy efficiency problems or look for solutions where energy efficiency can benefit both the end user and utility.


+ Assist management/Senior Engineers with presenting and helping to promote the energy efficiency program. The potential audience for presentation may include; utilities, federal agencies, trade allies (contractors, equipment vendors, distributors) and industry associations. This could be via phone, web or in person.


+ Provide proactive outreach/customer service to internal and external groups such as utilities, federal agencies, trade allies (contractors, equipment vendors, distributors) and industry associations via phone, web or in person in support of the energy efficiency program.




+ Serve as part of a team providing input on energy efficiency offering for commercial buildings, HVAC technologies, building controls and refrigeration in both new construction and retrofits.


+ Design, model and analyze mechanical systems for review/final approval


+ Analyze systems and processes, including heat transfer, fluid dynamic and thermodynamic principles for energy efficiency improvements. Provide recommendations for improvements.


+ Assist in the design of commercial and industrial HVAC&R systems for energy efficiency


+ After EE systems installation, verify and document system performance to defined objectives and criteria.


+ Conduct energy savings calculations and create whole building energy models (i.e. DOE 2.2, OpenStudio, eQuest) utilizing data analysis methodologies. Energy models are used to determine potential savings of new equipment, building retrofits or new construction. Different models are used for pre to post a comparisonof utility bills to determine energy savings.


+ Use Sunflower Admin and Asset Suite to review logged equipment, check equipment in/out, and request upgrades.


+ Identify, develop and assist in the facilitation of energy efficiency projects


+ Verify customer satisfaction upon project progress/completion via reports and verbal check-ins.


+ May assist with the facilitation of project scope, project development, and technical analysis.


Requirements:


+ Bachelor's degree in engineeringrequired.


+ Mechanicalengineering degree is preferred.


+ Electrical, process/ industrial degrees or a directly related technical/engineering degree will be considered.


+ 2 - 3 years of demonstrated experience in EE (Energy Efficiency) engineering isrequired.


+ 4+ years of demonstrated experience in EE Engineering ispreferred.


+ A Professional Engineer (PE) license ispreferred.


+ 2+ years of experience analyzing systems and processes with heat transfer, fluid dynamic and thermodynamic principals for energy efficiency improvements isrequired


+ Familiarity and experience with energy savings calculations, energy models (i.e. DOE-2, OpenStudio, eQuest, Energy Plus) and data analysis methodologies and develop Measurement and Verification plans arerequired.


+ 1 year proven experience in customer service ishighly desired.


+ Project Management experience ishighly desired.


+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; (proficiency MS Office 2010 or newer is required).


+ Proven ability to model and analyze mechanical systems desirable.


+ Experience with commissioningof commercial & industrial HVAC&R systems for energy efficiency desirable.


+ Experience delivering high-quality products and services in support of organizationalgoals by making effective and efficient use of resources.


+ Must be self-motivated, self-disciplined and have proven ability to independently problem solve technical issues.


+ Must be a motivated self-checker and possess good written and oral communication skills.


Additional Requirements:


+ Approximately 30% travel to field locations will be required.


+ Up to 5% Overtime may be required.


+ Valid Driver's License is required.
